2008 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix

All road services in Marina Centre and Suntec City locality will be temporarily closed to make up the race circuit for the 2008 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix including service roads for supporting vehicles.

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) recommend the use of public transportation from September 20 to October 2 when accessing the Marina and Suntec City areas.

The setting up of the final stages of race infrastructure prior to the race, as well as its dismantling after the race, will take place during the end period. The actual race will take place in and around the Marina Centre from September 26-28.

All road services will be fully re-opened by 05.00 on October 2.

The LTA will offer shuttle services between Marina Centre/Suntec City and City Hall and Bugis MRT stations from September 20-29. Business will operate as normal within Marina Centre with minimum disruption to commuters and race spectators going into the area. This back to back shuttle service will let people travel around more swiftly. The shuttle service is scheduled to run from 06.30 to 24.00, except on the race days when the last service is at 19.00.

During the road closure, the public transport providers will guarantee sufficient capacity provided to cater the flow of commuters.

The STB and LTA are seeking advice from all Singapore hotels in Marina and Suntec City vicinity to make arrangements that will minimise inconvenience to hotel guests so they can alight and board transportation from the hotel entrance.
